Position Summary:

First Liberty Institute’s Social Media Specialist, in collaboration with the Marketing team, will use social media, video, and other communication vehicles to assist in growing First Liberty’s presence across social medial channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and execute social media campaigns
  • Execute and optimize strategies that educate, engage and drive donor acquisitions
  • Handle day-to-day social media execution
  • Help define key metrics and measurements of success and proactively monitor or effective and efficient ROI
  • Report on key metrics
  • Assist in growing First Liberty’s presence across social media channels, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others
  • Create engaging content that motivates followers to engage, such as like, share, follow, subscribe, sign up, sign on, or donate
  • Create engaging video clips from internal content for sharing on social media
  • Create iPhone videos with colleagues to share on social
  • Monitor emerging social media outlets for opportunities to expand presence
  • Develop content across social channels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and communications plans that leverage legal cases and religious liberty topics
  • Other duties as assigned

 Requirements:

  • Must agree with and sign First Liberty’s Articles of Faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, advertising, marketing, or related field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent exposure in a corporate, agency, or non-profit environment; experience in a legal or issue advocacy environment a plus
  • Strong ability to write and edit social media content in line with legal case messaging and a First Liberty voice
  • Experience in executing social media programs that include organic and paid content
  • Experience in managing creative resources for visual and multimedia content (memes, social videos, etc.)
  • Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Experience in leveraging social media management and analytics tools, such as Sprout Social
  • Knowledge of digital marketing trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and working on a Mac Pro; Technical aptitude a plus
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk around as needed during course of work
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. without assistance
