CHILDREN’S PASTOR
Purpose
• Partner with parents to give children & students the best chance at life with Jesus
both now and in the future
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with parents
• Develop leaders worth imitating
• Create on-ramps for new children, students, and families
• Equip and empower children and students to engage in ministry to and with their
peers
Required Job Functions and Skills
• Recruit, empower, and equip volunteers to serve in the children’s ministry
• Create environments where children and students can encounter the love of
Jesus, learn how to take their first steps of faith in Jesus, and grow in Jesuscentered living
Secondary Job Functions and Skills
• Develop, maintain, and distribute effective forms of communication to families
• Oversee curriculum plan and teaching teams
• Coordinate weekly ministry activities and services
• Coordinate special events that serve and connect to families in our community
• Communicate regularly with volunteers to reinforce CCC’s purpose, vision, and
values
• Establish and monitor safety measures for ministry environments: for children,
students, and adults
• Evaluate regularly the objectives and effectiveness of Next Gen ministries and
implement changes where necessary
• Develop and oversee the budget for the Children’s Ministry Team.
Job Specifications
• Each ministry staff personnel is a member of a Ministry Team at Cicero Christian
Church, serving as the “Director” in their area. They are to: seek out new
members, integrate new members into the church, develop their spiritual gifts,
and guide them into appropriate areas of service within the congregation and the
ministry team areas.

• Self-Leadership – learning to value what Jesus values and act consistently on
what I value.
• Spirit-Led – Becoming more aware of and submissive to God’s desire to
continue the work of Jesus through me.
• People Skills – communication, conflict managements, etc.
• Courage – vision to see where we need to go and initiating steps in that
direction. Includes ownership of mission – I am responsible for and accountable
to the mission of Jesus.
• Servant Leadership – race to the end of the line. Take the low place.
• Participate in or lead a micro church
• Participate in or lead a discipleship group
• Participate in “all hands on deck” outreach events
• Attend weekly ministry staff meeting
• Attend monthly leadership team meeting
• Model the values of the CCC staff
• Spend, on average, 45-50 hours per week in ministry-related service.
• Take one spiritual retreat day per month and one 3-day spiritual retreat per year.
It is understood that this job description is not all inclusive of the responsibilities of the
position and other duties may be necessary or assigned. Completion of the aforementioned
duties is more than one person can realistically complete with regularity, and adequate
support will be available
Cicero Christian Church serves the communities of Northern Hamilton County, just north of Indianapolis, IN.
We pursue Jesus-centered living through worship, outreach, serving and groups.
We believe evey disciple is responsible for the mission of Jesus and our ministry focuses on equipping Jesus followers for this mission.
We are elder led and staff driven.
Our current weekly worship attendance runs between 350 and 400 with good variety in age demographics.
The combination of Morse Reservior, small industry and farming bring a unqique and diverse socio-ecomnomic blend to this area.
The commuinity around us is growing as commuters continue to move north from Indianapolis.
