TITLE: MIDDLE HIGH DIRECTOR (5th - 8th Grade)
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Youth Ministries Pastor
PURPOSE: The Middle High Director role is to oversee all ministries, programs and events as it relates to kids and their families 5-8th grade, creating ministry environments where kids and their families become disciples of Christ who love God, love His Church and show His love to the world.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must exhibit the character qualities described in I Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9
- Must be or become a member in good standing of Shiloh within 3 months of employment
- Must affirm and embrace the Statement of Faith of Shiloh Community Church, which is in accordance with the Statement of Faith of the Evangelical Free Church of America
- Must affirm and embrace the Purpose and Values of Shiloh, and agree to abide by its Constitution and By-Laws
- Must demonstrate and seek to maintain a vital and growing relationship with the Lord through the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-24, the practice of personal and family devotions, corporate worship, the study of God’s Word, and prayer
- Must be a self-starter and an initiative taker
- Must be teachable
- Must have significant interpersonal skills
- Must be a team player, and be able to utilize their giftedness in a team environment
- Musical proficiency to assist in leading worship a plus
GENERAL DUTIES FOR MIDDLE HIGH MINISTRIES:
- Create and maintain a fun, safe, clean and age appropriate ministry environment for all ministry activities and events involving children 5-8th grade.
- Ensure that kids and their families have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel
- Oversee and develop a vibrant ministry team to serve 5-8th grade ministries including services, activities and events.
- Under the leadership of the Youth Ministries Pastor, develop Biblical lessons for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening classes in accordance with the current sermon series and the Shiloh Community Church Statement of Faith.
- Coordinate with Care Pastor to plan and assist in counseling, hospital visits, and general care for families involved in 5-8th grade Ministry.
- Initiate and develop ministry activities, events and programs that help kids and their families take the next step in their journey with God. These ministries may include, but not be limited to Student Worship Teams, Service opportunities for local outreach
- Communicate regularly with parents in an effort to partner with them in their role as the primary disciplers of their families
- Partner with High School Pastor for ‘Moving up’ transitions with students as they graduate
- Partner with the Children’s Ministry director and/or Youth Ministry Pastor to assist in ministry events both at Shiloh, and in the community. Examples include, but not limited to Fall Block Parties, Christmas Caroling, and Easter Egg Hunt
- Other duties as needed or assigned
WORK WEEK AND HOURS:
- 25 hours per week
- Shiloh Community Church Employee Handbook outlines and governs all vacation, sick days, and holiday policies.
