Lewiston Community Church: Seeking a Lead Pastor
Lewiston Community Church (LCC) is searching for a pastor to lead us into our next chapter. Our previous pastor recently retired, and we are eager to welcome someone with the experience, gifts, and calling to guide our church and community.
About UsFounded in 1892, LCC is a historic and vibrant part of Lewiston, Michigan. Our sanctuary, the oldest non-residential structure in town, continues to serve as a welcoming place for worship. We have 40–50 regular attendees and 65 members, many of whom are retirees. Our congregation includes year-round residents and seasonal visitors, with some families attending for multiple generations.
We are debt-free, operating with an annual budget of $134,000. Leadership is supported by a church council, deacons, and trustees. Sunday services combine scripture-based teaching, prayer, and worship, followed by fellowship. We also serve the broader community through food banks, clothing drives, and children’s programs.
Recently, we became a non-denominational church to better align with our vision for growth and outreach.
The Pastor We SeekWe are looking for a pastor who:
Experience as a commissioned pastor is preferred. The position includes a salary and benefits aligned with our budget, with housing provided through either a parsonage or a housing allowance.

Lewiston Community Church, Lewiston, Michigan Church Profile
Lewiston Community Church in Lewiston, Michigan, is an active community with 40-50 regular attendees and 65 members. We embrace a rich tapestry of church, faith, and theology backgrounds, with many second and third-generation members. Our congregation includes year-round residents and second-home attendees.
Our church, with a history spanning over a century, is a beacon of faith and community. We are proud to be a friendly, Bible-teaching, and praying church. Our members and attendees are known for their generosity, which has led us to be debt-free and able to support multiple mission organizations. This financial stability, a result of our members' generosity, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to serving others.
Members serve on church councils, the board of diaconate, and trustees to help serve the church and pastor. They also participate in Bible and book studies, lunch and learning sessions, and community picnics.
The congregation collaborates with other local churches to serve many community endeavors. We serve and support Community Sharing, a food bank and clothing center established by three local churches. Members organize a Children’s Christmas workshop, where kids can purchase gifts for their families at a nominal price. We strive to identify the greatest needs in our community and work alongside our neighbors to make a lasting impact on our town. Local church pastors regularly collaborate throughout the year to serve the community.
We have a beautiful historic church building close to the town center, ample grounds, and a parsonage. The interior is traditional and has been well-maintained over the years. Technology has been upgraded to support sound, video, and zoom improvements. Our lower level is available with a full-service kitchen for both church and community events.
Our vision is to grow the church by strengthening its service to the community. We pray that more individuals and families will join our church. We are committed to building on our strong Bible teaching, worship, and prayer foundation.
We are a non-denominational church recently disassociated from the United Church of Christ. This was done partly because of theological differences with the denomination and partly to expand our search for a new pastor. It also reduced potential barriers to visiting our church.
